Virus infects 9M Microsoft Windows Users

A virus has already infected 9M Microsoft Windows users. The virus targeted companies across United States, Europe and Asia. The virus spread rapidly through corporate networks.
The virus known to be “Downadup” or “Conficker” is a new and yet similar to old viruses.
“Over the last couple of weeks, a new variant of this worm has been affecting customers,” the company acknowledged in a blog post. Microsoft said the virus is spreading by gaining access to one computer and then guessing at passwords of other users in the same network: “If the password is weak, it may succeed.” – Microsoft Blog
Is there a fix from Microsoft? Usually Microsoft’s Automatic Update will download the security update for this one however the virus disables the updates on infected computers said Hypponen.
F-Secure researcher were just amazed how this virus had spread so fast.
